West Brom and Crystal Palace are tracking SCO Angers defender Romain Thomas, and could make a move for him during the summer transfer window.

The 28-year-old defender's solid performances at the back played a key role in Angers finishing in the top half of the table last season, in their first campaign back in the French top tier.

His impressive showings for Angers have attracted the attention of a few clubs from across Europe and there is speculation that he has emerged as a summer target for clubs in the Premier League.

Ligue 1 outfit Saint-Etienne have been heavily linked with a move for Thomas, but they could be facing competition from England as according to L’Equipe, West Brom and Crystal Palace are keeping a close watch on developments at Angers regarding the defender.

The Premier League outfits are keen to add some solidity to their backlines for next season and the Frenchman has emerged as a viable option in the market.
