Roma officials are to hold talks with their Arsenal counterparts on Monday in an effort to secure the services of Wojciech Szczesny for another season.

The Poland international goalkeeper spent the entire 2015/16 season on loan in the Italian capital and made a positive impression on Roma.

Szczesny opted to leave the Emirates Stadium after concluding the arrival of Petr Cech meant he would play very little first team football and the situation is unlikely to change over the summer.

He is keen to stay at Roma, but no deal has been agreed yet.

According to Sky Italia, the Giallorossi will try to change that when they meet Arsenal officials on Monday.

It is unclear whether Arsenal will agree to a fresh loan for the goalkeeper or instead look to sell him.

Szczesny helped Roma to a finish of third in Serie A last season, meaning the capital club have Champions League football to look forward to in the forthcoming campaign.
