Chelsea have joined the race for Lille attacking midfielder Sofiane Boufal, who has also been mooted as being on Liverpool's radar as an alternative to Mario Gotze.

Boufal only joined Lille in January 2015, but has wasted no time in establishing himself at the French club and has attracted the attention of several sides.

Liverpool are alive to the 22-year-old's talents and could choose to swoop this summer, but they may have competition from Chelsea.

Indeed, according to Sky Italia, Boufal is now firmly on the radar at Stamford Bridge as the Blues look to rebuild under Antonio Conte following a disastrous season.

Lille will no doubt be reluctant to lose a player who scored 12 goals and provided four assists in 35 games last season.

And the Ligue 1 side have Boufal under contract until the summer of 2019.

But a large bid for the 29-year-old may render Lille powerless to prevent his depature to the Premier League.

Boufal has made a total of 51 appearances for Lille since joining, scoring 15 goals and providing ten assists for his team-mates.
