New West Ham United signing Sofiane Feghouli believes the Hammers have it within themselves to do something "very beautiful" if they continue to make progress, while he has also hailed the atmosphere around the club.

The winger recently put pen to paper on a contract with West Ham after choosing to leave Spanish giants Valencia, following the expiry of his contract at the Mestalla.

Feghouli had been linked with a number of clubs and his signing is widely thought to be a coup for West Ham, ahead of their move into the Olympic Stadium this summer.

And Feghouli believes that Slaven Bilic's side can compete at the top end of what he views as a very finely balanced Premier League.

"This season, with three games remaining, West Ham were close to fourth place. It came to nothing, but it is a very finely balanced league", he told L'Equipe.

"And if the club continues like this, with humility and a lot of ambition, it could lead to something very beautiful."

Feghouli also hailed the passion and excitement around the club at present, as West Ham look to build on their strong 2015/16 season with their first campaign at their new home.

"There is a dramatic fervor around this club.

"Being supported in this way, it can only be motivating", the former Valencia winger added.
