New Port Vale manager Bruno Ribeiro has revealed that he is keen on exploring the possibility of snapping up Manchester United players, using his friendship with Jose Mourinho.

Ribeiro, who is currently 40 years old, is someone who hails from the same Portuguese city as Mourinho, Setubal, and is now just around 40 miles away from Manchester United, after he arrived at Vale Park.

Port Vale chairman Norman Smurthwaite appointed Ribeiro with the hope that the Portuguese’s contacts around the football world will help the League One club.

While the Red Devils signed Eric Bailly from Villarreal, Vale have only ten players under contract, including former Newcastle United goalkeeper Jak Alnwick.

Ribeiro will look to attract loan signings for his new club, which have let go of five of their players and have seven players with an expiring contract.
