There are no developments over a potential return to Leeds United for Liam Bridcutt.

The midfielder was snapped up on loan from Sunderland last season by former Whites head coach Steve Evans, who made Bridcutt an essential member of his side.

Evans was eyeing keeping Bridcutt on a permanent basis, however the Scot was shown the door at the end of May and has been succeeded by former Swansea City manager Garry Monk.

According to the Yorkshire Evening Post, there has been no movement over a deal to take Bridcutt back to Elland Road.

Monk may have different targets in mind for the Leeds engine room, meaning Bridcutt may not be seen at Elland Road in a white shirt again.

Leeds however could simply be chasing priority targets first.

The midfielder left Sunderland after falling out of favour under manager Sam Allardyce.

Bridcutt is under contract with the Black Cats for a further season, but it remains to be seen whether the 27-year-old will start the 2016/17 campaign at the Stadium of Light.
