Wolfsburg sporting director Klaus Allofs insists that talk of a release clause in Julian Draxler's contract is wide of the mark.

Draxler has recently been linked with a move to Jose Mourinho's Manchester United and it had been claimed there was a clause in his contract allowing him to leave for €60m.

Not so says Allofs, who is firm in his view that Draxler will not be leaving the Volkswagen Arena this summer.

"This is wrong", he told German magazine Kicker, when asked about the release clause.

"Julian remains!" Allofs thundered.

Draxler was regularly linked with moving to the Premier League during his time at Schalke, however it was Wolfsburg who won the race for his signature and snapped him up on a five-year contract last summer.

Last season the attacking midfielder made a total of 35 appearances in all competitions for Wolfsburg, scoring nine goals and providing eight assists.

The Wolves have Draxler locked down on a contract until the summer of 2020.
