Southampton are not chasing former Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini or United States coach Jurgen Klinsmann to become their new manager.

The Saints are looking for a new manager following Ronald Koeman's decision to quit St. Mary's in order to answer Everton's call at Goodison Park.

Pellegrini, who left Manchester City at the end of the season to make way for Pep Guardiola, is available and has been linked with Southampton.

So too has Klinsmann, who is currently leading the United States in the Copa America; the German has guided the hosts to the playoff for third place, which will see them take on Colombia.

However, neither Pellegrini nor Klinsmann are in the running for the Southampton job, according to BBC Radio Solent.

The two managers are currently leading the betting in the race to become the next Saints boss.

Also in the betting is French tactician Claude Puel, former Ajax coach Frank de Boer and ex-Roma boss Rudi Garcia.

It remains to be seen to whom Southampton will turn to build on Koeman's good work at St. Mary's.
