Borussia Dortmund coachThomas Tuchel has initiated contact with Andre Schurrle as he looks to line up a replacement for Manchester United target Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

Super agent Mino Raiola has made it clear that his client won’t extend his contract, which expires next summer, with Dortmund and revealed that the Armenian wants to join Manchester United.

Manchester United have also played their part by establishing contact with Dortmund over a proposed move, and have reportedly tabled a €36m bid for the player.

While Dortmund have been saying that they won’t allow the 27-year-old to leave this summer, it has been suggested that their stance has softened in recent days and the club are prepared to accept an offer around the €40m region.

Dortmund have also identified former Chelsea winger Schurrle as Mkhitaryan’s possible replacement, and according to Bild, Tuchel has already initiated talks with the player and his representatives over a move to the Westfalenstadion.
