Juventus have slapped in a big money bid for Marseille forward Michy Batshuayi, but West Ham are expected to trump the offer soon, according to French sports daily L’Equipe.

The 22-year-old forward’s future at Marseille has been a subject of speculation for months as the French club are ready to sell him this summer to raise cash and ease some of their crippling financial situation.

After losing Alvaro Morata to Real Madrid, Juventus are making a serious play for Batshuayi and it has been claimed that they have tabled a huge bid for the player in recent hours.

The Italian champions have offered to pay an initial fee of €32m, and another €3m based on his performances, but it is not expected to be enough as West Ham are ready to make a concrete move for the player.

It has been claimed that the Hammers are ready to blow Juventus out of the chase with an initial offer of €35m, plus €5m in bonus payments that could take the deal to €40m, which is believed to be Marseille’s valuation of the player.
