Juventus are plotting a fresh assault for Valencia midfielder and Manchester United target Andre Gomes after the European Championship.

The Italian champions have been keeping a close watch on the Portuguese midfielder for a few months and are keen to take him to Turin during the summer transfer window.

However, Juventus were taken aback by Valencia’s financial demands for the 22-year-old midfielder, and Manchester United’s interest in the player further complicated the situation for the Bianconeri.

However, they are yet to take their eyes off Gomes, and according to Turin-based Italian daily Tuttosport, the club are set to launch a fresh assault in order to take the midfielder to Italy this summer.

Gomes remains their top midfield target and the club are expected to probe Valencia in the next few days in order to bring them back to the negotiating table for the Portuguese.

While meeting Valencia’s demands is still not in their plans, Juventus are confident that they will be able to convince the Spanish giants to dial down on their asking price.

Gomes’ agent Jorgen Mendes is said to be keen to take him to Manchester United this summer, but Juventus are confident that the midfielder prefers a move to Turin.

The midfielder is currently preparing for Portugal’s European Championship second round clash against Croatia tonight.
