Manchester United are poised to sign Borussia Dortmund winger Henrikh Mkhitaryan for a fee of €38m after improving their offer for the player.

Mkhitaryan has just a year remaining on his contract with Dortmund and his agent Mino Raiola has made clear that he will not sign an extension.

The German side have remained reluctant to allow him to leave, but Manchester United have now improved their offer to €38m, according to Sky Italia, and the transfer is expected to go through.

When the bid is accepted, the formalities of the deal will be signed off, with paperwork to be exchanged between the two clubs.

Raiola has insisted that his client cannot miss out on the opportunity to join Manchester United and now the winger looks set to have his wish fulfilled.
