Rangers manager Mark Warburton wants to use the club's training camp in the United States to build team spirit and bonds between the players ahead of the forthcoming season.

Warburton's men are jetting off to South Carolina for a ten-day training camp, which will include a friendly against local side Charleston Battery, as Rangers clock up game time.

Battery currently play in the United Soccer League and are expecting a capacity 5,000 crowd in their MUSC Health Stadium for the visit of the Scottish giants.

Warburton feels the game will be a welcome experience in the midst of the training camp for his players, while he will also use the trip to boost the bonds between his squad members.

The Englishman told Rangers TV: "We’re going to Charleston which is a great city. We’ll work three times a day, we’ll have one game on the 6th against Charleston Battery which will be the introductory game for us and the players will get 45 minutes.

"We’re looking forward to that as it’ll be in front of a packed 5,000 crowd, which will be a good experience for us", Warburton continued.

"It is a working camp to go over there and increase the bond and the unity of the squad."

Rangers won promotion to the Scottish Premiership last season and will start the new campaign by hosting Hamilton at Ibrox in what is sure to be an electric atmosphere.
