Italian giants Roma will offer defender Kostas Manolas a contract extension against the backdrop of rejecting a bid from Manchester United for the Greek.

The Greece international was in good form for the Giallorossi last season, featuring in a total of 37 league matches for Roma during the course of the season.

His performances have not gone unnoticed with the Red Devils along with Antonio Conte's Chelsea showing keen interest in securing the services of the player.

The Old Trafford-based outfit are on the lookout for yet another defender after having secured the signing of Eric Bailly from Villarreal as they look to strengthen their defence.

The Greece international is one player that Jose Mourinho is looking at and according to Italian daily Corriere dello Sport, a bid of €35m from Manchester United has been knocked back by Roma.
