Leeds United have confirmed that left-back Tyler Denton has put pen to paper on a new one-year contract at Elland Road.

The 20-year-old left-back was out of contract this summer, but Leeds have been keen to ensure he continues his footballing education at the club.

And Denton has agreed to extend his stay with the Whites until the summer of 2017, something which gives his great pride.

"It’s a really proud moment for me and my family", the full-back explained to the club's official site.

Denton turned out in every single Under-21 match Leeds were involved in last season as he continued to clock up valuable playing time and hone his skills.

He also wore the captain's armband for the Under-21s at times, in a sign of how highly he is regarded within the walls of Leeds' Thorp Arch training base.

Denton will now be looking to push on in the new campaign and try to catch the eye of head coach Garry Monk.
