Chelsea have had a new offer for Radja Nainggolan rejected by Roma.

The Premier League giants are keen to snap up the Belgium international midfielder and he has been identified by incoming Blues manager Antonio Conte as a key target this summer.

Chelsea have made multiple attempts to convince Roma to sell Nainggolan and, according to Sky Italia, a bid of €40m bid plus add-ons was sent to the Giallorossi today.

Roma wasted no time in rejecting the bid though as they remain determined to keep hold of Nainggolan.

The ball is now back in Chelsea's court and the Premier League outfit will no doubt be plotting their next move, with alternative targets in mind given how keen Roma are not to sell Nainggolan.

Chelsea are also set to not be helped by the player himself, as Nainggolan has expressed his happiness at remaining with Roma and stressed he is not someone who often switches teams in his career.

The Blues have been linked with Zenit St. Petersburg midfielder Axel Witsel.
