New Celtic signing Moussa Dembele has revealed that Brendan Rodgers has promised him regular playing time at Paradise, although he knows he will have to perform to stay in the team.

Dembele shone at Fulham in the English Championship last season and netted 17 goals for the Cottagers. He caught the attention of Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino and the Premier League side came within a whisker of signing him in the winter transfer window.

This summer Dembele, out of contract with Fulham, was also linked with Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United.

But the striker has opted for Celtic and put pen to paper on a four-year deal with the Scottish champions to become Rodgers' first signing at the club.

And Dembele expects to receive regular game time at Celtic, while it will then be up to him to hold down his place.
