Leeds United new boy Marcus Antonsson is confident that assistant manager Pep Clotet will add a lot of value to the backroom staff at Elland Road.

The Whites snapped up Antonsson from his homeland side Kalmar FF earlier today, and the Swede became the club’s first signing of the summer by putting pen to paper on a three-year deal.

The forward is coming into the Leeds squad after being the top scorer in the Swedish top flight, and it is his first career move outside Sweden, but he is set to work with a familiar face at Elland Road.

Leeds assistant boss Clotet was Antonsson’s manager at Halmstads and the striker is delighted to get the opportunity to work with Spaniard again in Yorkshire.

And the forward is confident that the Barcelona-born coach is a great asset for Leeds to have in their coaching set-up.

When asked about Clotet, Antonsson told LUTV: “He was my manager at Halmstads.

“He is a great guy, and he knows a lot about football.

"I think he is going to do a really good job for Leeds United.”

The 25-year-old will be hoping to shine at Leeds under the tutelage of Garry Monk and his former manager Clotet next season.
