Manchester United have opened talks with Mino Raiola for the signature of French midfielder and Real Madrid target Paul Pogba this summer, according to Spanish daily AS.

Pogba’s future at Juventus has been under the scanner for a few seasons, with top clubs jostling to snare him away from Turn and this summer has not been any different.

Real Madrid have been interested in snapping him up, but the figures mentioned in terms of transfer fee and wages have forced the club to rethink their strategy in the transfer window.

With Los Blancos dithering, Manchester United have taken the lead in the chase for the Frenchman, and it has been claimed that they have opened talks with Italian super agent Raiola over a proposed deal for Pogba.

Juventus are said to be demanding a transfer fee of around €120m, and Pogba’s wage demands from his suitors are around the €15m per season mark.

While the figures have stunned Real Madrid, Manchester United do not appear to have been put off and are now working to deliver Pogba to Jose Mourinho at the start of the Portuguese’s rein at Old Trafford.

Manchester United are close to securing deals to sign two of Raiola’s high profile clients in Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrikh Mkhitaryan, and are hoping to use their good relationship with the Italian to get Pogba too.

Real Madrid on the other hand are facing uncertain times when it comes to their pursuit of the 23-year-old as club president Florentino Perez is not willing to spend so much money on the midfielder, but Zinedine Zidane is desperate to sign his countryman this summer.
