Rangers star Jason Holt has claimed that the acquisition of Joey Barton will have a positive impact on the club.

23-year-old Holt, who joined the Glasgow based club last year from Hearts for a fee in the region of £69,000, appeared 45 times last season and racked up a tally of 12 goals and eight assists.




Barton, who was acquired by the Gers on a free transfer, is one of a number of signings that manager Mark Warburton has made and the list includes former Tottenham star Niko Kranjcar, defender Clint Hill and youngster Jordan Rossiter.

Holt, who has also played for Sheffield United in the past, believes that Barton has the qualities to make an impact for Rangers in the forthcoming season.
 


He told the official Rangers website: “It’ll be great to play alongside a player like Joey Barton and I’m sure that he will be a great signing for the club.

Rangers, who have won promotion into the Scottish Premiership following their Championship triumph last season, are currently in the United States for a training camp during which they will face Charleston Battery on 6th July.
