New Liverpool signing Sadio Mane has claimed that the Merseyside based club are the right club for him with the right manager.

The Reds confirmed the capture of the 24-year-old recently as the Senegalese winger penned a long-term deal at the Anfield based club. The fee is reported to lie in the region of £34m.




Mane, who has also plied his trade with French club FC Metz and Red Bull Salzburg, has claimed that Liverpool are the perfect club for him with the right manager in the shape of Jurgen Klopp.

He told the official Liverpool website: “I knew Liverpool were interested in me, I had some [other] opportunities, but I think for me this is the right club, the right coach and the right moment to change.
 


“I am very happy to be a part of Liverpool Football Club.

“He [Klopp] said he wanted me to come to play for Liverpool. I didn’t even have to ask myself, I said straight away ‘yes, I am interested’ because I know Liverpool.

“I am convinced Liverpool are the right club for me with the right coach.”

Mane joined Southampton from Red Bull Salzburg in 2014 for a fee in the region of £11.8m. The winger made 67 league appearances, racking up 21 goals for the Saints.

Liverpool finished eighth in the Premier League last season, as they struggled to find consistency.

Klopp’s men failed to win the Europa League last season as they were ousted 3-1 by Sevilla in the final of the competition.
