Rotherham United have failed with a bid for Rangers target Tom Bradshaw, with their offer for the Wales international well below Walsall's valuation.

The striker turns out with Walsall in League One and has regularly been linked with a move north of the border to Mark Warburton's Rangers.

But Rotherham, under former Hibernian manager Alan Stubbs, have made the first move in the battle for Bradshaw's signature this summer.

According to the Press Association, the Millers put an initial £250,000, plus add-ons, on the table for the hitman.

Walsall rejected the offer and it is claimed to be well below the League One club's valuation of the player.

Rotherham are expected to come back to the negotiating table for the 23-year-old, with Stubbs desperate to snap him up.

Bradshaw helped Walsall finish in third spot in League One last season, with the club then coming up short in the playoffs.

It remains to be seen whether Warburton's Rangers will firm up their interest in Bradshaw by lodging their own bid for the striker.
