Melania Gabbiadini has advised her brother Marco Gabbiadini to consider leaving Napoli this summer in order to play regular first team football.

Marco is attracting interest and is in demand, with Stoke City claimed to have had a bid for his services rejected, while West Ham United are also watching proceedings closely.

The striker's sister, who herself is a footballer and has won 114 caps for Italy, scoring 45 goals, feels that her brother should be ready to leave Napoli as he must play week in, week out, something which has often not been the case with the Azzurri.

Melania told Italian daily Il Mattino: "We both have football in our DNA, our father was a goalkeeper.

"We have always followed each other, but we have not talked about football so much because when I see him he prefers to talk about something else", Melania, who has won five Italian titles with AGSM Verona, continued.

The striker's sister accepts choosing to leave Napoli could be hard, but urged her brother to think carefully about his future.

"I would recommend Manolo leaves Napoli to play more.

"It has been a difficult year, but he made himself available to the coach and he was ready on the occasions he had.

"I would like him to find more room. I would like him to find a team where he can play and emerge.

"However, Napoli are a major club, play in the Champions League and can aim for the Scudetto, but Manolo has to think about what he wants."

Napoli have been keen to keep hold of the 24-year-old striker, but if Marco pushes to leave, the southern Italian club could have a rethink on his situation.

His contract with Napoli runs until the summer of 2019.
