Ryan Hardie is desperate to use pre-season to force himself into Rangers manager Mark Warburton's plans for the forthcoming campaign.

Warburton decided the striker was not yet ready to influence games for the Gers last term and sent him out for a loan spell to Raith Rovers.

The Rangers boss has been busy in the summer transfer market, but has yet to bring in another striker, which means Hardie is spying a chance to convince Warburton to hand him opportunities next season.

The striker, who is working hard at Rangers' pre-season training camp in the United States, told Rangers TV: "I’m really looking to kick things off by getting a good season under my belt and hopefully get some game time under my belt and show the manager what I can do and try to get into his plans for this year."

Hardie was keen to play for Rangers last season, but explained when he headed out on loan his target changed; and the striker met the target he set for himself during his loan spell at Raith.

"Last season my main goal was to get into the Rangers team and get a few games, but once I was out on loan my target was to get six goals and I think I got that by the end of the season", he said.

"I was really happy with how last season went for me and I’m really looking forward to progressing this year", Hardie added.

The striker will hope for a chance to feature in a friendly against Charleston Battery during Rangers' United States trip, as he aims to show Warburton he has no need to sign another striker.
