Inter Milan and Chelsea are interested in signing Argentine defender Ezequiel Garay this summer, according to Sky Italia.

The experienced Argentine defender has his admirers in Europe, and is reportedly on Jose Mourinho’s shortlist of defensive targets for Manchester United in the current transfer window.

However, the defender is attracting serious interest from Inter Milan who are keen to snare him away from Zenit Saint Petersburg this summer and have been contact with the Russian outfit for Garay.

Zenit are willing to sell the player and are demanding a fee in excess of €10m for the defender who turns 30 later this year, but Inter are confident of clinching a deal.

However, the Nerazzurri are aware that they could face serious competition from Chelsea, who are also looking at Garay as a potential candidate to strengthen their defence.
