Roma are set to renew contact with Arsenal in the next few days to extend Wojciech Szczesny’s loan at the Stadio Olimpico this summer.

The Poland international joined Roma last summer on a season-long loan deal, and was the first choice goalkeeper at the Stadio Olimpico for the 2015/16 campaign.

The 26-year-old remains keen to continue at Roma, and coach Luciano Spalletti also wants to hold on to the player, but the Serie A giants are yet to reach an agreement with the Gunners.

Roma offered a new proposal to Arsenal earlier this summer to extend Szczesny’s loan stay at the Stadio Olimpico, but the offer failed to impress the Gunners, who are looking to extract more out of the deal.

However, the Giallorossi are not expected to stop their efforts with regards to the goalkeeper and according to Tutto Mercato, they are set to initiate fresh contact with the Gunners in the coming days.
