Moussa Dembele admits he spoke to Fulham team-mate Ross McCormack about moving to Scottish giants Celtic.

The highly rated young striker put pen to paper on a four-year contract with the Bhoys earlier this week and joins following the expiry of his contract at Fulham.

Celtic will pay a training fee of just £500,000 for Dembele and the capture of the Frenchman is considered a coup following interest from Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.

Dembele played alongside Scotland international McCormack at Fulham and admits he spoke to the 29-year-old over the move.

"Yes, we spoke in the dressing room at Fulham", he told Celtic TV.

"But nothing was done. We were just speaking and I asked him some questions about Celtic."

Dembele also played alongside Celtic winger Patrick Roberts at Fulham and admits he also sounded him out about life at the Glasgow giants.

However, at that point he had already decided that joining the Bhoys would be the right next step in his career.

"I spoke to him about the club and he told me good things about it.

"My mind was already made up", Dembele, who is now jetting off to link up with the Celtic squad on their pre-season tour of Slovenia, added.
