New Celtic signing Kristoffer Ajer has explained he will study after he has finished training with the club, rather than spend his free time playing on the PlayStation.

A deal to take Ajer to Celtic Park was put in place earlier this year, but the Norwegian has only arrived at the club this summer and is now having to contend with impressing a different manager to the one who tempted him to Scotland, with Brendan Rodgers replacing Ronny Deila.

The midfielder intends to finish is final year of school from Scotland and then plans to go to medical school, knowing well what career he wants after the game.

For Ajer, deciding to continue his studies was an obvious option and one he feels he can fit into his life as a Celtic player.

"I'll take some science so I can start medicine here", he told Norwegian daily VG.

"To begin with, it is just fine, so I can go 100 per cent into it after a long career.

"At the moment we are training early in the day and maybe also the afternoon during pre-season.

"After that you can choose between playing on the PlayStation or studying – for me, the choice then is very simple", Ajer added.

The 18-year-old midfielder has been tipped for big things in the game and will be looking to kick on at Celtic, making an impression on Rodgers over the course of the Bhoys' pre-season.

However, Ajer also has his eyes firmly trained on a career after football, with medicine his chosen profession.
