West Ham United goalkeeping coach Chris Woods has warned that Seattle Sounders will be desperate to beat the Hammers in an upcoming friendly.

Woods is someone who knows American football well and enjoyed a spell at MLS side Colorado Rapids. The Englishman was part of the Nottingham Forest side that won the European Cup in 1979.

A former goalkeeper, Woods made 23 appearances for the Rapids and has formerly been a member of the United States national team coaching staff as well.

The 56-year-old, who has also plied his trade with Manchester United as a coach, has claimed Major League Soccer side Seattle Sounders will be desperate to beat West Ham during the friendly on 5th July.

He told the official West Ham website: “There will be a great atmosphere for the Seattle game and I have been there to see a game. There is non-stop singing and I know some of the players there.
