English Championship side Aston Villa are showing interest in Hellas Verona goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini.

Aston Villa are looking to bulk up their squad over the summer in anticipation of a tough slog in the Championship, as they aim for promotion to the Premier League at the first attempt.

Gollini, 21, has popped onto Aston Villa's radar, according to Sky Italia, and the Villa Park outfit are weighing up a move.

The goalkeeper is no stranger to English football and spent time in the youth ranks at Manchester United earlier in his career, before then returning to his homeland with Hellas Verona.

The shot-stopper is highly regarded in Italy and has represented the country at Under-18, Under-19, Under-20 and Under-21 level.

Despite being just 21 years old, Gollini is established between the sticks with Hellas Verona and made 27 appearances for the club in all competitions last term.

However, he could keep only two clean sheets in Serie A as Hellas Verona endured a disastrous campaign and finished bottom, being relegated to Serie B.
