Bayern Munich have been linked with a move for Arsenal defender Laurent Koscielny, who is also on the radar of Real Madrid.

The French defender has been a rock in Arsenal’s defence over the last few seasons, and is one of the first names on Arsene Wenger’s team sheet.

Koscielny is also a first choice pick in Didier Deschamps’ France team, and at 30, has managed to attract interest from some of the big wigs of European football because of his consistent performances.

With Raphael Varane’s future in doubt, Real Madrid are reportedly keen to snare Koscielny away from Arsenal this summer, but they might not be the only big European club after the Frenchman.

According to German daily Bild, Bayern Munich technical director Michael Reschke is a fan of the Frenchman, and has advised the club to go after the Arsenal defender.

With Medhi Benatia believed to be on his way to Juventus, Bayern Munich are looking for back up to Jerome Boateng and Mats Hummels and Reschke feels Koscielny is ideal for the role.

However, the Frenchman is a certain starter in Wenger’s team and may be unlikely to move to Bayern Munich to play second fiddle to their first choice centre pack pairing.

Koscielny has racked up 248 appearances for the club since joining Arsenal from Lorient in 2010.
