Giuseppe Bellusci's departure from Leeds United is done and dusted.

The Italian defender is returning to his homeland to link up with Serie A side Empoli, who have managed to thrash out an agreement with Leeds for his services.




Bellusci will join Empoli on loan for the season, while the Italian side will also have an option included in the deal to keep the centre-back on a permanent basis.

According to Sky Italia, the deal is done and Bellusci will imminently put pen to paper on a contract with Empoli.
 


He is currently accompanied by his agent Michelangelo Minieri, who has been thrashing out the very final details of his client's return to Italy.

Bellusci joined Leeds in 2014 and has become a controversial figure with the club's fans, splitting opinion.

He has become known for regular defensive mistakes which often cost Leeds dear during games, while towards the end of last term he was dropped by former head coach Steve Evans.

Leeds are expected to replace Bellusci with Swansea City defender Kyle Bartley.
