Manchester United have confirmed the signature of veteran Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic on a free transfer.

The Swede confirmed yesterday that he will be joining the Red Devils, but the deal was finally confirmed by Manchester United after he passed a medical with the club earlier today.

The 34-year-old striker has signed a one-year contract, with the option of extending for one more year, and has become Jose Mourinho’s second signing of the summer.

Ibrahimovic and Mourinho worked together previously at Inter Milan, and share a good chemistry, which is said to have played a key role behind his move to Manchester United.

The veteran striker is delighted to join Manchester United, and is looking forward to achieving success at Old Trafford in the twilight of his career.

"I have thoroughly enjoyed my career so far and have some great memories. I am now ready to create more special memories in England", Ibrahimovic added.

Ibrahimovic scored 50 goals in 51 appearances for Paris Saint-Germain last season, and has won the league title in every country he has played in until now.
