Leeds United's new loan signing Kyle Bartley has revealed that once he was made aware of the interest from the Whites he had no hesitation in dropping down to the Championship.

The Peacocks confirmed the capture of the Swansea City man on a season-long loan deal on Friday, after the departure of Giuseppe Bellusci on loan to Empoli.

Bartley has previously experienced playing under Leeds head coach Garry Monk while at the Liberty Stadium and will bring Premier League experience with him when he takes to the pitch for the Elland Road outfit.

Speaking about his excitement at playing for such a renowned club, the defender said that it is an honour for him and something he is eagerly looking forward to.

Bartley is also relishing the chance to play regularly for the Championship side and be part of a successful season overall.

“It feels fantastic to be here”, Bartley told his new club's official website.

“I found out about a week ago that Leeds were interested and, straight away, it was something that I was really looking forward to.

“I’m just happy to be here now and have everything signed.

“There were a few other teams interested but as soon as I spoke to the gaffer, I told my agent that this was the only club for me.

“With the history of the club and how big the club is, it was a no-brainer for me.

“I want to come here and play week-in, week-out in what we hope will be a really successful season for the club.”
