Rangers winger Harry Forrester has expressed his confidence in the ability of new recruit Lee Hodson and believes that the full-back will bring more competition to the squad and delight boss Mark Warburton with his attitude.

The Scottish Championship winners confirmed the signing of the 24-year-old from MK Dons earlier this week, convincing him to put pen to paper on a three-year deal.

While the player himself has spoken about his excitement at linking up with such a famous and historic club, his team-mate insists that the addition of Hodson is significant for the team.

According to the winger, Hodson with his young age and energy will help the team become better. The 24-year-old's inclusion will also mean that there will be increased competition within the team for starting places.

“He is a good player and I’m sure he’ll bring more competition to the squad", Forrester told his club's official website.

Speaking about his own view on the player with whom he shared a dressing room while at Watford, and then played against him last season while he was at Kilmarnock, Forrester said that Hodson is a good lad and will be welcomed warmly by Warburton.

“I played with him when I was about 15 or 16 at Watford and against him a few times when I was in England and for Killie last season.

“We went for food last season when he was at Killie, me, him and Rob Kiernan and he’s a good lad and will be a good edition.

“He is a solid full back, he is a very good defender in 1v1 situations and he will get forward. He is young and hungry which the gaffer loves.”
