Jose Mourinho has returned to England from his holidays to take charge of Manchester United’s pre-season preparations.

Manchester United sacked Louis van Gaal following their win in the FA Cup final and appointed Mourinho as their new manager a few days later to usher in a new era at Old Trafford.

Mourinho secured a deal to sign central defender Eric Bailly from Villarreal before he went for a short break in the Maldives last month, but was said to be in constant touch with the club over their summer business.

He returned to England earlier today, and posted a photograph of him arriving at the airport on his personal Instagram account.
