West Ham new boy Domingos Quina insists that he loves being himself on the pitch, without worrying too much about others.

The 16-year-old was included in the squad that left for the club's tour of the United States, getting a taste of life with West Ham shortly after joining the Hammers.

Having progressed through the youth ranks of Benfica, the starlet joined Premier League side Chelsea in the summer of 2013.

Quina therefore arrives at the Olympic Stadium with enough experience and insists that as a player he has qualities to surprise people and will be looking to do the same in a West Ham shirt.

“I have got some skills and I like to surprise people and do things that they aren’t expecting”, Quina told his club's official website.

“I like to be exciting and do things in different ways to the way other people do them.”

Quina's first training session with the West Ham senior side happened this Sunday at the Seattle Seahawks’ Virginia Mason Athletic Complex.

And he is not feeling any pressure despite the fact he is turning out alongside seasoned professionals at West Ham.

“I try to enjoy it and not think about the other players on the pitch and what they have done.

“I try to be myself and enjoy it.”
