FC Barcelona have confirmed that they have exercised their buy-back clause for Denis Suarez, who has joined from Villarreal for a fee of €3.25m

Suarez, who is currently 22 years old, left the Nou Camp last year and joined Villarreal, where he scored five times and assisted 11 times in a total of 46 appearances in all competitions last season.

The deal takes Suarez back to the Nou Camp, where he has penned a four-year deal and has an option to extend it for another year too.

The youngster becomes Luis Enrique’s first signing of the summer and will undergo a medical on Tuesday, while his presentation will take place on Wednesday.

Someone who can play on either flank and can also be deployed up front, Suarez made 36 appearances for the Barcelona B side during his stint at the Camp Nou, after which he left for Villarreal for an undisclosed fee.
