Leeds United are waiting for answers from Lewis Cook, Charlie Taylor and Alex Mowatt after making the trio new contract offers, it has been claimed.

The Whites are keen not to risk losing their talented trio and all are out of contract next summer, placing the club in a potentially vulnerable position.

But Leeds chairman Massimo Cellino is not sitting on his hands and according to Radio Yorkshire, all three have received improved contract offers to commit their future to the club.

Cook, Taylor and Mowatt are all considering their options, as they decide whether to put pen to paper.

The Whites found themselves in a similar situation last season with another academy product in the form of Sam Byram.

A highly-rated right-sided player, Byram opted against signing a new deal with Leeds and eventually left the club for Premier League outfit West Ham United in the winter transfer window.

Leeds only pocketed a fee of £3.7m for Byram, who has since tasted top flight football with the Hammers and been hailed by his team-mates and the club's co-chairman.
