Fiorentina are still in the chase for Chelsea linked winger Emanuele Giaccherini, who has also been heavily linked with a move to Torino.

The 31-year-old former Juventus winger struggled to make his mark at Sunderland and was loaned back to Italy with Bologna last summer by the Black Cats.

After a fruitful Serie A season, and a solid European Championship campaign with Italy, Giaccherini is attracting serious interest from top Italian clubs, including Torino.

The Turin-based club are reportedly close to agreeing a deal with Sunderland for the winger, but according to Italian broadcaster Sportitalia, Fiorentina are still hopeful of luring Giaccherini to the Stadio Artemio Franchi.

La Viola have been keeping a close watch on developments, and are confident that they can still turn the tide of the transfer saga towards them, as they look to convince the player to join the club.

Bologna are also interested in signing him on a permanent contract, but are yet to make any concrete move to get a deal over the line.

Torino remain the favourites to land the player, but Giaccherini’s agent has recently indicated that despite the interest of the Italian clubs the forward would jump at the opportunity to work with Antonio Conte at Chelsea.
