Oxford United expect striker Kemar Roofe to join Leeds United later today.

Garry Monk's side were chasing Roofe earlier this summer, but were scared off by Oxford's asking price, with the U's saying that they would not sell the striker for any figure under £3m.

Leeds have come back to the table for last season's League Two Player of the Year however and matters have progressed quickly, with Roofe now looking firmly set for a move to Elland Road.

And the deal could be done imminently as, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post, Oxford expect Roofe to join the Whites today.

Leeds are moving quickly to add to their squad, having brought in goalkeeper Rob Green, defender Kyle Bartley, midfielder Matt Grimes, winger Hadi Sacko and striker Marcus Antonsson.

It remains to be seen how much Leeds spend to sign Roofe as they have only paid a fee for Antonsson so far.

Roofe was in fine form for Oxford last season and powered the club to promotion from League Two to League One.

Now the former West Brom star is set to continue his career at Elland Road with Leeds in the Championship.
