1.FC Koln chief financial officer Alexander Wehrle feels Borussia Dortmund defender Neven Subotic won’t be joining his club this summer, amidst interest from the Premier League.

The 27-year-old defender struggled to get game time under Thomas Tuchel last season, and is expected to be on his way out of the Westfalenstadion this summer.

Dortmund excused the defender from their pre-season training earlier this week to hold talks with an unnamed club, and there has been speculation that 1.FC Koln are plotting to sign the Serb.

However, club CFO Wehrle indicated that the Dortmund defender won’t be arriving at the Rhein Energie Stadion.

He told German daily Express: “I do not think Neven Subotic will be joining us.”
