Aston Villa target Yeltsin Tejeda has opted to continue his career in Switzerland by moving to join Lausanne Sport.

The Costa Rica international midfielder emerged as a target for Aston Villa late last month, as he weighed up leaving French side Evian following their relegation from Ligue 2 last season.

However, it is not to Villa Park that the Costa Rican is heading and he has penned a deal with Lausanne, joining the Swiss Super League side on a three-year contract.

Tejeda turned out for Costa Rica in this summer's Copa America in the United States and had also been targeted by Spanish side Getafe, who were relegated from La Liga last season.

The 24-year-old made a total of 26 appearances in Ligue 2 with Evian last season, but could not help the club avoid relegation.
