Leeds United striker Lee Erwin has compared League One to the Scottish Premiership after moving to Oldham Athletic on loan.

Erwin joined Leeds last summer from Motherwell, but failed to make his mark at Elland Road as he struggled for minutes on the pitch.

Now he has linked up with Oldham on a loan deal to run for the entire 2016/17 season and the striker is aiming to rediscover his form at Boundary Park.

And Erwin feels dropping down to League One from the Championship is no problem as he rates English football's third tier as being on a par with the Scottish top flight.

"I have set myself a goals tally in my head, but I won’t be saying what that is", he told the club's official site.

"I think the standard between the Scottish Premier League and League One is very similar.

"I was only on loan at Bury last season for a couple of games and I saw it was about the same standard.

"I just can’t wait to get out on the pitch and show the fans what I can do", Erwin added.

The former Motherwell man arrived at Leeds tipped as a potential future star and he will now look to get his career back on track with Oldham.

Erwin has a total of 14 goals in 66 appearances throughout the course of his career to his name.
