Jurgen Klopp is continuing to monitor developments surrounding Bayern Munich attacking midfielder Mario Gotze.

The race for Gotze's signature is now on following the conclusion of Euro 2016 and the news the midfielder told his Germany team-mates at the tournament he is willing to leave Bayern Munich this summer.

Borussia Dortmund and Tottenham Hotspur are keen on Gotze, while it had been claimed Liverpool boss Klopp was cooling his interest.

But according to French sports daily L'Equipe, Klopp is continuing to keep his eyes on Gotze's situation at the Allianz Arena.

The German coached Gotze at Borussia Dortmund and is well aware of the midfielder's capabilities.

However, Liverpool may be at a disadvantage in the race as both Borussia Dortmund and Tottenham can offer Gotze the chance to play Champions League football next season.

Liverpool, who reached the Europa League final last season but lost to Sevilla, have not qualified for any form of European football for the forthcoming season.
