Atletico Madrid remain interested in re-signing Chelsea striker Diego Costa, according to Madrid-based daily Marca.

Costa has been linked with a return to the Vicente Calderon this summer and it is claimed he would jump at the chance to play under coach Diego Simeone once again.

The striker has returned for pre-season training with Chelsea and is said to have landed back at the Blues in good shape, unlike last summer.

Atletico Madrid are continuing to weigh up re-signing Costa, but Chelsea will need to give a signal that they are willing to sell the Spain international.

And while the Blues recently signed Michy Batshuayi from Marseille, they would need to bring in another striker if Costa left.

Landing a world-class replacement for Costa could prove difficult for Chelsea to do as they do not have Champions League football to offer to potential signings.

And Costa is claimed to have been earmarked to operate in a two up front with Batshuayi by Chelsea manager Antonio Conte.
