Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has revealed that he will sit down and talk to midfielder Joe Allen about his future at the club once he returns following his holiday after his efforts with Wales at Euro 2016.

Allen's future remains unclear with the player having not yet signed a new deal with the Reds in spite of him having only one year remaining in his current contract.

Allen has been among the fringe players for Liverpool, having started in only eight games for his team last term, and as such he has been heavily linked with a move to reunite with former Reds boss Brendan Rodgers at Celtic.

The figures for his overall appearances amounted to 37, with the Welsh international managing to find the back of the net three times and also setting up three more for his team-mates.

A move to Celtic could be an option for Allen if Klopp opts to sell, while a return to former club Swansea City may also be possible.

Klopp though insists that any decision on the player's future hasn't yet been taken and he will wait for his return to the club before holding talks with him.

"We will find a solution, but it's not done", Klopp was quoted as saying by ITV.

"Obviously Joe Allen is a good player. We never doubted this. He played a good European Championship, like the whole Welsh team.

"We have to make decisions, we have to find solutions.

"We have to talk to the player, ask the player and think about our situation.

"That's how it works."

Allen was impressive with the Welsh national team, helping them reach the semi-final before losing to Portugal.
