Arsenal are looking to tempt highly-rated Hoffenheim youngster Philipp Ochs to quit Germany and head to England to continue his career.

Ochs, who operates as a striker, recently turned out for Germany's Under-19s at the European Under-19 Championship, where he scored three goals.

He could not help Germany win the tournament, which was his aim, as they finished third in their group, but Ochs still impressed in front of stands packed full of scouts from the biggest European clubs.

And he made an impression on Arsenal as, according to German daily Bild, Ochs is wanted at the Emirates Stadium.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is thought to be a big fan of the Hoffenheim talent and the Gunners are keen.

However, they face a battle as Hoffenheim are determined they will not allow the young striker, who is under contract until the summer of 2019, to leave.

Hoffenheim sporting director Alexander Rosen was quoted as saying: "There is no pain threshold [at which we will sell].

"We do not want to give up Philipp."
