Southampton are tracking Lyon midfielder Clement Grenier, but have yet to firm up their interest.

The Saints recently appointed former Nice coach Claude Puel as their new manager and he is alive to the talent on offer in the French market; Puel also coached Lyon, meaning he knows Grenier's qualities.

At present it is Torino who are making all the running for Grenier, though AC Milan are also in the mix, and Lyon have granted the midfielder permission to join either side on loan with a purchase option included.

Torino have held talks with Grenier and according to French sports daily L'Equipe, he is now deciding whether to join the Serie A club.

Grenier could choose to stall Torino to see if AC Milan firm up on their interest, while he could yet have an option in England too.
