Leeds United are one of three sides willing to better Club Brugge's offer for NEC Nijmegen winger Anthony Limbombe, something which has led to the Dutch outfit rejecting the Belgian side's approach.

Club Brugge have slapped in a bid of €1.7m for the Belgian winger, but NEC feel that Limbombe's value is higher and are unwilling to sell at that price point.

The winger himself has gone on strike after being denied a move, leaving the club's training camp on Friday and then not showing up on Monday, despite having been threatened with disciplinary action.

According to Dutch magazine Voetbal International, the reason NEC have rejected Club Brugge's bid is because they know three sides are willing to beat the Belgians' offer.

It is claimed Leeds, Granada and Toulouse are all willing to pay more than Club Brugge's €1.7m bid for Limbombe.

Indeed, NEC already have a draft agreement in place with Toulouse for Limbombe, but the winger does not want to move to the French side.

Leeds were looking to sign Limbombe last summer, but refused to meet NEC's asking price.

The Whites then turned their attention to another winger in the Eredivisie and bought Jordan Botaka.
